CELEBRATING 80 YEARS OF SERVICE

For 80 years, the Elizabethtown Lions Club has devoted its energy to passionately serving the greater Elizabethtown area and through the power of Lions International, the world.

We place a special emphasis on providing vision services locally to those who cannot afford it, and providing support to young people through educational and sports award programs.

We also support the Elizabethtown Community Cupboard, as well as the Elizabethtown and Rheems Fire Departments.

Projects

We meet regularly at 6:15PM on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Due to COVID-19, our meeting location is a bit variable at the moment, but for now we will be at Christ Lutheran Church on E High Street.

Locally, nationally and internationally, the Lions are an advocate for the Blind and Vision Impaired, and the Disabled. We also strive to strengthen our community through teamwork, partnership, and fellowship.

Each year we perform several service projects and hold fundraising activities to enable those projects.

Recently we have added a monthly award to recognize an outstanding student at the CTC.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR September 2020

CTC student of the month!

Robert “Bo” McKee is a Welding Technology student at the Lancaster County Career & Technology Center.

“I like doing the physical work, putting in the labor,” he stated.  “I like being able to get to the end of a day and be able to put my hands on something and say, "I made that.” McKee comes from a Lancaster County CTC family.  His brother and sister both went to the LCCTC and he knew that he wanted to go to the CTC from an early age.  His father is a welder and he understands about the hard work and the education necessary to be a good welder.  McKee said that learning to be a welder “is not easy and no one’s going to hold you through it.”  He noted that the satisfaction of hard work and a difficult project well done is worth the effort to do it.

The Elizabethtown Lions Club congratulates Robert for being our September 2020 CTC Student of the Month.
